"the thREe" WORKSHOP - Education Project

“the thREe” Workshop – A Recycled Land For Tiny And Eco-friendly Citizens.

A peaceful and zero-waste zone at the center of Sai Gon has been established by Mayor TUTU for the tiny citizens who wish to create recycled products themselves. Our motto is 3R: "Recycle – Reduce – Reuse" ensuring that everything is crafted from recycled or sustainable materials. "The thREe" Land depicts various environments around children, including the city, mountains, hills, jungle, rivers, beaches, with a colorful view. Through the story of the land, "The thREe" Workshop aims to share an inspiring message: "Why harm the environment when we can live eco-friendly with it?".

Children are always hyperactive and energetic when it comes to discovering and exploring our world. To encourage kids to enhance their imagination, we provide guidance during our workshops on creating their favorite recycled products. Subsequently, children embark on a journey through an imaginary land to collect necessary materials. This involves playing quizzes at booths or uncovering hidden treasures in secret corners.
In the end, our teachers and staff assist children in completing their projects at "thREe Square". Once finished, children have the option to take their creations home or display them at our workshop.

This place is not just a recycled workshop; it is more. "thREe Square" serves as a hub for collecting recyclable waste from various sources. Our dedicated staff carefully select materials that can be repurposed for children's activities. After thorough consideration, these materials are strategically hidden in secret corners.
Finally, we eagerly await the entrance of children, who will embark on a delightful quest to discover and retrieve these hidden treasures!

The “the thREe” Workshop is located on the current ground floor plan of VFIS (Vietnam Finland International School). As it is a service-education construction, the designer placed the reception and product displaying area in the main lobby to leave an impression on students, their parents, and other visitors. The frontage of “the thREe” Workshop includes the reception, displaying area, and a free-shape bench.
The Welcome Gate of the workshop, inspired by a tale of an “eco-friendly” land, invites visitors to pass through a vibrant tunnel. Upon crossing, a magnificently wonderful world unfolds. This enchanting area features wooden shelves for students to stow their backpacks and shoes, a creatively shaped bench beneath a sprawling tree, and a pathway leading to the workshop's expansive area and various functional zones.
For a clear understanding during the learning process, children are first introduced to the workshop and the recycled product they would like to create, learning how to find materials, understand colors, sizes,... at the Inspired Library. They are also provided with a solid foundation for their future careers through the hands-on process, creating final products related to their favorite careers. We also provide them with necessary stationery tools (scissors, pencils, rulers, crayons,...) for the final steps. They can ride in toy cars in front of the library for an enjoyable journey.
The "Amazing Hills" Playing Area is an example to illustrate one of our play areas of the workshop. After children receive detailed guidance at the Inspired Library, they are free to explore anVd play, searching for hidden materials placed in various locations.
Additionally, we have set up booths in each area for quiz games with questions related to the environment. Prizes include materials or "the thREe" money, which children can exchange at stores or the Creative Market located at the center of "the thREe" workshop.
After playing and gathering enough necessary materials, children begin creating their final products at thRE Square, the central space of the workshop. Here, they handcraft the products they desire with the support of our teachers and staff.
This is an area for children to work, a space with a monitor showing documentaries (on the environment, cartoons, hand-made recycled product programs,... and notably, an exhibition space.
Arranging the area as a hand-making place. This special table is named "S-Bench" (Tom Design & Furniture) with many flexible functions as a bench/ shelf/ desk, which is easy to arrange at will.
The area can be transformed into an exhibition when the workshop needs to showcase recycled products based on specific themes. In this picture, there is an exhibition featuring recycled paper, focusing on threatened animals.
